Why did my payment attempt fail?

Updated 2026-09-17 11:20

Payment attempts can fail due to patterns associated with a higher than normal level of risk identified by our internal security system. This does not necessarily mean that your payment is fraudulent but the transaction may be declined as a precaution to help protect you and your account.

Below are some possible reasons why your payment attempt may have failed along with steps to resolve the issue :

1. Insufficient Funds in Your Account

Your payment may be declined if the available balance in your bank account, card, or digital wallet is insufficient to cover the transaction.

2. Incorrect Payment Information Entered

The payment may be rejected due to required payment information is entered incorrectly. The common information that are entered incorrectly include :

  • Card Number
  • Expiration date
  • CVV/CVC security code

3. Bank Authorization or Security Check Failed

Your bank may decline a payment if the transaction is flagged as unusual or potentially unauthorized by its security system. This usually happen when :

  • You are making a large payment
  • The transaction is from another country
  • Multiple payment attempts were made within a short period

4. Online or International Payments Are Not Enabled

Some banks may automatically disable or decline online, international, or overseas transactions as a security measure.

Here are several ways to resolve the issue

  1. Please check your account balance to make sure you have enough funds for the payment.

  2. Please check and make sure the information you entered during payment are entered correctly.

  3. Contact your bank to check whether the payment was declined for security reasons and request approval if necessary.

  4. Make sure online and international payments are enabled on your card.
